In 2022, Vanya married his wife, Callee, and together they enjoy life in Hobart. In his free time, he:

Attends Spring Lake Church, where he volunteers on the Music/Worship team

Has been a basketball official for 15 years

Vanya’s story is one of perseverance, dedication, and service. His commitment to Hobart continues to grow, and he remains devoted to making a positive impact on our community.
Born in Tomsk, Russia, Vanya Koepke’s early life was marked by resilience. After losing his mother at the age of three and growing up without a father, he spent five years in a Russian orphanage. At eight years old, he had the opportunity to stay with a family in Long Island, NY, but the placement didn’t work out. Two years later, he found his forever home when he was adopted by his current family.
Although born across the globe, Vanya is deeply rooted in our community. Since being adopted, he has dedicated himself to advocacy, leadership, and public service.
Vanya holds a bachelor’s degree from UW-Green Bay and has built a career centered on leadership and community service. His commitment to public safety and governance includes:

Serving on the Green Bay Police and Fire Commission (2018-2020)

Moving to Hobart in 2019 and quickly becoming an active community member

Being appointed to the Hobart Ethics Board and Hobart Parks & Recreation Board (2020)

Being elected Hobart Village Board Trustee (April 2022), where he continues to serve today

Serving on the Public Works Committee and the Tax Assessment Review Committee

Working as a Client Relations Manager at R7 Property Management - Renard Ventures, where he has been for the past year
